Lisa Goldin – HeartBeat (2024)
For just on a decade, singer-songwriter Lisa Goldin has been sharing her music with audiences across the globe. Holding one vision of writing music to touch hearts, the fearless musician captures listeners with her angelic vocals, bold beats and heartwarming tunes. The UK-based artist hit our virtual desk in 2022 with her single ‘Something I Used To Wear’; however, her music has turned heads internationally from her 2015 debut single ‘Really Doesn’t Matter’ to her EP Hope in 2020 and 2023 single ‘Like That’. South Africa, the UAE, the USA, Germany, France and her native UK – these are only a few countries where Goldin is an established name. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘HeartBeat’.
Following her well-received tracks ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Like That (Acoustic)’, Lisa Goldin shifts from a moody ballad to toe-tapping pop in ‘HeartBeat’. Melding the charm of Lana Del Rey and Katie Melua with the intimate tenderness of Ed Sheeran’s lyricism, Goldin’s new single is smooth, warm and comfortable. Bold beats drive ‘HeartBeat’ representing a heartbeat with soft synths fluttering throughout; however, it is Goldin’s vocals that give the single something special.
Rich and confident with a mellifluous flow harmonically joining the melody and vocals, ‘HeartBeat’ is the sonic representation of that blood-pumping organ in comfortable joviality. Silly and innovative, there is a vulnerable youthfulness within the sophisticated arrangement – fun, laughable and plants a big grin on our faces. When speaking about ‘HeartBeat’, Goldin explains:
“I didn’t know how this would turn out in the studio as it’s one of my quirkier songwriting. With the nonsensical Yoda-like lyrics… schoolgirl in love fumbling to find words vibe. And then, the absolute euphoria that “I can finally breathe” … finally.”
In addition to the single, Lisa Goldin released an official music video for ‘HeartBeat’. You can view the video below or on Goldin’s YouTube channel. Please note this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
