Letterbox Kid – Stormy Daniels (2024)

The solo project of Irish singer-songwriter Isaac O’Sullivan, Letterbox Kid is a kaleidoscopic fusion of hip hop, RnB, soul and pop pushing conventional music to the brink. While O’Sullivan has a few years behind him, this is our introduction to Letterbox Kid – better late than never. From his 2021 single ‘Yeah, I’ve Got You Callin’ to 2023’s ‘BUGATTI’ and ‘Rainbow Song’, the naturally talented musician has captivated audiences far beyond his Irish borders. Along with energetic, enthusiastic and engaging performances at notable venues, the charm and confidence oozing from his melodies make Letterbox Kid’s music an experience and not merely a song. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Stormy Daniels’.

Stormy Daniels – a name immediately linked to scandalous moments and questionable actions with Donald Trump – one might consider there to be a scandalous fashion in the ‘Stormy Daniels’ tune. Yet, as insatiable as Letterbox Kid’s music might be, this ‘Stormy Daniels’ is far from the brash bottle-blond crassness as can be imagined.

A collaboration with musician Darian June, the new single is an experimental concoction of alternative pop with interspersed dabs of RnB and hip hop. A truly eclectic tune with great obscurity, listening to ‘Stormy Daniels’ is not for the faint-hearted; then again, the soothing soulfulness of O’Sullivan’s vocals dull any sting of avant-garde insanity, particularly as O’Sullivan leads us out of the three-minute track. Finding a line between laidback calm and upbeat rambunctiousness, Letterbox Kid effortlessly carries listeners through a criss-cross of raw emotion in ‘Stormy Daniels’

“This song would happily sit upon a car radio on a warm summer’s day when there was simply nothing better to do than go for a Sunday drive and play bops one after two until the sun escaped the sky and you find yourself back in the drive of your family home…” – Letterbox Kid on ‘Stormy Daniels’

In addition to the discography, Letterbox Kid released an official music video for ‘Stormy Daniels’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel.
