Lethia’s Natorium – Here We Go (2022)
There are times when you need to forget everything and just embrace the positive vibes that come with having fun. This is exactly what Lethia’s Natorium has infused into their single ‘Here We Go’. Inspired by a day at a theme park, they pack the adrenaline-fueled high you experience with the ride into each note of this really uplifting track.
As you leave all your cares behind, the single twists and turns with the excitement and thrills you need to embrace the present and ride the euphoria of fun. A musical project created by singer-songwriter Pena Hughes-John, this band is made up of session musicians with the occasional line-up change due to availability. Following her last studio project The Angry Ukulele Lady, this band sees her stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight.

Hughes-John’s vocals call out to you through the opening and draw you into the joyful screams of excitement and the colours of a theme park. As she heads into the chorus, there is an echo to her vocals that leads you further into the shining lights of the track. There is a touch of euphoria in her performance that fills your chest with the rush of joy and the overall upliftment of the single. The single is packed with thrills, but they have been masterfully woven into a vocal performance that is gentle in its bliss. There is a touch of rock to the delivery of her performance that draws on some retro vibes, but this is washed out with the high of the emotions. It is impossible to listen to this vocal performance and not feel the rush of positive vibes utterly packed into each word.
Taking the vocal performance to another level is the melody that slowly builds through the opening. The light notes are like the faint twinkle of funfair lights before the rush of adrenaline hits your chest with the guitars. Following this rush, the beats move you forward with an almost giddy energy that has you wanting to experience everything all at once. The rise and fall of the music mimic a rollercoaster, with the building anticipation of creeping to the top before the hammer of adrenaline-fuelled freedom hits with the freefall of the guitars. It is a really fun track that will have you feeling lighter for having listened to it.
