L E T I – Change Is Here (2023)
Singing songs of encouragement, empowerment and change, singer-songwriter L E T I is a modern-day artist with a message for the people of today. Hailing from Switzerland, but now residing in the UK, L E T I is pursuing her artistic dreams with a welcoming smile and poignant depth. Despite having only four singles to her name (including the most recent song ‘Change Is Here’), the alternative pop artist has been turning heads across the globe since her debut in 2021. From Rising Artists Blog to RSI Radio television and Mesmerized, L E T I has been described as vibrant, complex, and dramatic.
Following her single ‘Rise’, ‘Change Is Here’ is L E T I’s first release since 2021. Retaining her electropop sound, ‘Change Is Here’ shows a similarity to previous material; however, there is a honing to the melody with a more sophisticated use of synths and blending of genres beneath her obscure vocals. Perhaps this is an evolution in L E T I’s style? Yet, as with ‘Rise’ and ‘Oltre’, L E T I tosses you into a kaleidoscopic, ethereal haze with her music. You float along on a sonic cloud feeling weightless as she embraces you in a whimsical hug.
While the electropop tune can easily be played to a dancing crowd in a club or festival, its anthemic wistfulness hides a more profound insight. Touching on the issue of climate change, L E T I pushes the message of searching for change, acknowledging change and how to create change to better humanity. When speaking about ‘Change Is Here’, she explains “writing ‘Change Is Here’ required courage and authenticity. I wanted to convey the messiness and wide range of emotions we might feel when thinking about climate change: sadness, hope, anger, grief and a longing for community.”
