Kwun – Ancient Ageless & True (2023)

Following his debut single ‘Supernatural’, ‘Ancient Ageless & True’ is the second single from his upcoming album of the same name. Recorded and produced in collaboration with a stellar line-up of musicians from Nashville, as well as mixing by UK-based engineer Sam Wheat, ‘Ancient Ageless & True’ is a labour of love on an international scale. Inspired by The Eagles, the sophomore single adopts a strong folk sound with a slight folk-pop tinge sprinkled atop the melody. Unlike ‘Supernatural’, ‘Ancient Ageless & True’ has greater warmth in its rich, toe-tapping tune; however, as with ‘Supernatural’, a flair of innocent rawness slivers through the sophisticated maturity of the track.
While the warm melody embraces you in a big sonic hug, it is Kwun’s obscure vocals that add a distinctive edge to ‘Ancient Ageless & True’. Poetic and profound, Kwun presents an intimate connection in the thought-provoking lyricism. Finding the line between personal and universal, ‘Ancient Ageless & True’ has individuality in its message blurred within a “universal love song”.
