Kristina Lachaga – Love You More (2023)
Known as The Girl With The Big Pink Heart – a nickname she picked up at a Justin Bieber concert back in 2010 – Kristina Lachaga is just that: a girl with a big heart. Now we’re not talking about the size of Lachaga’s heart anatomically but her warmth, generosity and all-around niceness. Based in the USA, Lachaga uses her voice to capture the attention and minds of all listeners; and she uses this attention to support anti-bullying campaigns throughout the USA. Of course, her reach is far beyond the North American borders as she turns heads internationally with coverage from Rising Artists Blog, Pop Passion Blog, and Mystic Sons. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Love You More’.
Compassionate and caring, Kristina Lachaga’s personality flows through her music as she blasts happy vibes through our speakers. After a two-year break, ‘Love You More’ follows the well-received 2021 single ‘Blank Space’. Bringing her signature bubble-gum pop sound to the melody there is a cheerful innocence about it. Yet, the transition to softer folk tones with an acoustic arrangement showcases an evolution in her overall sound.
Penned back in 2016, ‘Love You More’ was originally not intended to be released as a single. A fan favourite at her performances, it was always played at shows; however, Lachaga knew there was something special about the melody. In an interview with Pop Passion Blog, she shared that she “…kept coming back to the song and performing it live. From performing it live, I knew people were connecting with it…in 2019/2020, I had Rich [her producer] add percussion to the track and in 2023 I finally felt it was ready to share with the world…”
Considered her first romantic ballad, ‘Love You More’ is more than a swirl of charming guitars underlying her tender vocals. No, it is a song bursting with an optimistic, magical sense of hope. Lachaga explains that ‘Love You More’ was “inspired by love that grows day by day…brings an endless amount of love and sunshine to those who listen to it.”
