Klaverson – I’m Coming Home (2022)

After taking some time away from the music scene, Jack Lintorn is back with his new musical project, Klaverson. Bringing a mysterious, hazy darkness to stunning minimalistic melodics, he invites us to explore the meaning of the lyrics of ‘I’m Coming Home’. With dark musical textures meeting seductively soulful vocals, he layers thick emotion into a twilight downtempo sound.

As the debut single of this musical project, the track is a fantastic introduction to his new sound which has been honed over time. Raw, emotive and powerful, his confident sound showcases his outstanding musical talents that fill each note with vivid emotion. Through this single, he encapsulates a sense of being lost that is tempered with the bright light of comfort when we need it most.

‘I’m Coming Home’ has a dark nighttime feeling to the opening of the track. The music carries a mysterious edge that makes you feel like something is moving just outside the sphere of light that you are in. There is a rather abstract feeling to the music that slowly builds into a more melodic flow. The downtempo vibes of the music mix with the minimalism for a strangely rich movement. The higher levels of the music have a haziness that is carried by the textures of the lower level. Through this mixture of sound, you are drawn forward into the thick emotions of the track. It is a really interesting melody that brings a lot of different elements together in a uniquely stripped-back way.

Rising out of the shadows of the melody, an otherworldly vocal line slips through the air causing shadowy movements in the corners of your eyes. While this could become quite creepy, the darkness of the track takes a different turn through the building layers of vocals. The main vocal line has an inky edge that filters into the shadows of the single and meets the otherworldly vocals for a delicate interplay. Through the vocals, the emotions of the single really shine as they rest thickly in the air. The combination of the melody and vocals has you feeling lost in a sea of darkness. The light of the vocals offers a touch of comfort, but there remains this sense that a single step forward could lead you astray again.

With his debut single ‘I’m Coming Home’, Klaverson uses a wonderful combination of minimalistic melodics, twilight vocals and inky mystery to bring a feeling of being lost to our ears. The music has a richness that is fantastic to listen to, while the vocals offer a sphere of light in the darkness. Together, they form the feeling of being lost and the worries of moving forward only to become lost again.
