King Jesai – OnlyFans (2023)
Embracing his natural talent for music, teenager King Jesai probably didn’t realise his prowess for hard-hitting RnB meets hip-hop beats. Little did he know his smooth vocals would grace the music scene to critical acclaim. Known for his groovy vibes, energetic melodies and skill of winning hearts with a sultry smile and catchy lilt, US-based King Jesai builds his following with chart-hitting songs and international radio airtime. This is my introduction to King Jesai, although he has been turning heads across the globe performing with artists like Jazze Pha and Keri Hilson.
Recently signed with MTS Management Group, King Jesai releases his debut single ‘OnlyFans’ – at least on Spotify that is. Recorded and produced with MTS Records, ‘OnlyFans’ has a unique obscurity making the single simultaneously chilled and increasingly unpredictable. Bold hip-hop beats fuse with rap energy in a distorted swirl of sound; however, the electronic taps pulsate like a heart pounding in the background. It stabs and pierces giving the strong groove an off-kilter feeling made for intrigue as well as discomfort. For me, it is King Jesai’s vocals that wrap everything in a sensational sonic wrapper.
Dipping into the hurricane of hip-hop sounds, King Jesai slathers rich vocals across smoothing the edges. Slithering down the wall of electric beats, a tinge of RnB allure grabs your heart and sends a grin across your face. ‘OnlyFans’ reaches into the eye of the storm finding the coveted place between chaos and sanity.
Whenever introduced to an artist, I wonder whether the musician has longevity, authenticity, innovation, originality and the little something special to up his ante; King Jesai checks many of the boxes. His glittering eclecticism, intoxicating intensity, and soul-stirring seduction creep into one’s heart enticing sonic sublimeness in a cheeky wink.
An earworm of a song, I can have ‘OnlyFans’ blending in the background, blasting out my car window, and see fans pump their fist in the air to the charged music. My one concern, however, is King Jesai might have peaked too soon. I cannot wait for more material from this highly recommended hip-hop artist.
