Killing Aura – Resolution (2022)

Known for their energetic, enthusiastic and insanely fantastic live performances, Killing Aura brings the masses a new breed of alternative rock. Combining the talents of close friends – Chris Gordon (frontman), Tom Burrows (guitar), Ben Lanckham (bass) and Danny Gage (drums) – the awesome foursome are making waves in the UK rock scene. With the release of their debut single ‘Million’, Killing Aura captured the eyes and ears of international audiences; they continue to build this following with features on notable press like RGM.

Following their critically acclaimed track ‘Million’, the lads adopt a super-charged alternative rock sound in ‘Resolution’. Interestingly enough, while there is a strong contemporary alt-rock style to the track, elements of classic rock break through the soundscape. In a melodic arrangement, there is a sense of flow to the hard-hitting arrangement; however, each instrument appears to have prominence while still coming together in a harmonic whole.

Along with powerful guitars and pounding drums, Chris Gordan’s vocals add a grittiness to ‘Resolution’. Bold and gruff, Gordan brings a rawness to the stripping melody. Now, I don’t mean there is a simplicity in their approach when I speak of stripping, but rather that the heaviness of ‘Resolution’ seems to strip you down reaching your soul and sending it soaring. Nostalgically familiar with the classic/hard rock tone, but with a refreshing modern-day tinge, Killing Aura places its stamp on the 2022 music industry.

“People telling you who you want to be, but wanting to be yourself and better yourself, nobody can do it for you. Wanting to start fresh and put yourself out in the world no matter how scary it may be, almost inspiring yourself looking up to the greats and doing it better than they did.” – Killing Aura on ‘Resolution’

In addition to the single, Killing Aura released an official music video for ‘Resolution’. You can view the video below or on their YouTube Channel.
