With a cheeky grin and a sassy flip of her hair, singer-songwriter Kelsie Kimberlin can turn heads without even singing a note; but it’s her music that truly captivates hearts. Following ‘We Are The Promise’, ‘Parking Lot’ sparkles with kaleidoscopic joy wrapped in a ribbon of cheekiness.
With bold underlying beats and Kimberlin’s rich vocals, ‘Parking Lot’ embraces a strong pop sound; however, elements of Latin pop with reggae sentiments burst through the melody. Just as you start clicking your fingers and dancing to Kimberlin’s bouncy sound, she inserts a Spanish flair with charming elegance. The flamenco guitar drags us to the streets of Madrid prepared for a heated Latin celebration, and the Spanish vibe is cemented with musician Pedro Vengoechea’s Latin rap.
Using the brash abruptness of Vengoechea’s rap and Kimberlin’s sweet vocals, ‘Parking Lot’ has a challenging starkness to it but simultaneously a smooth sensuality. Penned as a song about a dancer enticing others to join her in a vibrant dance, ‘Parking Lot’ is the perfect tune to get your groove on and the anthem to a happening night out.
