Keezaa – Eigener Weg (2024)

A pioneer in the German music scene, singer-songwriter Keezaa is a trailblazer with her brand of German trip-hop. A kaleidoscopic concoction of RnB, Deutschpop and trip-hop, Keezaa highlights an innovation and originality that is hard to ignore. While her solo project is relatively new, the Germany-based artist has decades of experience in the music industry. From large stadium-filling bands to smaller live venues, her understanding of the scene enhances her constantly evolving sound. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Eigener Weg’.

Following her well-received single ‘Herz’, ‘Eigener Weg’ steps away from soulful RnB grooves to something heavier and darker oozing gritty intensity. I might lay ‘Eigner Weg’ as a cross between alternative rock, post-punk and hard rock; however, there is obscurity lying within the track that is indefinable. Recorded and produced by Keezaa, a bold bass belies a fusion of guitars, drums, and synths. Add a hint of percussion and you have a palpable bubble of raw intensity.

The melody itself has all the eeriness and creepy darkness of a Marilyn Manson video, but Keezaa is nothing like Marilyn Manson – she’s far more intriguing. With the pulsating instrumentation and her obscure vocals, ‘Eigener Weg’ is a vivid swim through raw human emotion digging further into the gritty, painful, inconceivable core of humanity. Interestingly, it is this navigation of fragility that makes the song so powerful. Keezaa explains:

“’Eigener Weg’ is a powerful anthem about moving on from a toxic relationship. The song captures the journey of healing, acknowledging past scars while focusing on a brighter future. It’s a narrative of resilience and empowerment, encouraging listeners to find their own strength and embrace their unique path… the song’s relatable themes of overcoming hardships and personal growth make it impactful and memorable.”

In addition to the single, Keezaa released an official music video for ‘Eigener Weg’. You can view the video below or via her YouTube channel.
