Jordan Suter – Pablo (2020)
Jordan Suter is drawing on real-life for his latest single ‘Pablo’. The single was written after he walked in on a heated conversation at a bar in his hometown between one of his friends and a local cocaine dealer. The lifestyle of drug dealing, gambling, cocaine and everything else surrounding it became the focus of the song. This is all touched on using Suter’s southern rock style with a dash of outlaw country.
His musical style is one that you should not miss with a range of influences from classic country to that St. Louis sound. While his music has always been a large part of his life, it took a back seat until 2017 when he moved to St. Louis. Now, with a mesmerising four-track EP under his belt, he continues to captivate with this single.
‘Pablo’ slowly draws you in with the vibrating opening that gives way to this guitar line that just does not stop. The slow build-up of the track is wonderful and really gets you into the vibe. The guitars are superb as they hit you with this Southern rock thread and the drums suck you into their beat. The different elements of the melody work together and form their own sections of the story. There is a depth to the melody that you have to wade into, but you are going to enjoy every minute of it.
Suter’s voice is whiskey smooth and enthralling as he lays out the tale of the track. There is a warmth to his vocals that wraps around you. His performance also perfectly complements the utterly amazing melody and guitars. Together they form different layers of the story and leave you wanting more. If you are not itching for more of Suter by the end of this song, you weren’t really listening.
‘Pablo’ by Jordan Suter is a mesmerising Southern rock tale and instant playlist favourite about drug dealers, cocaine and gambling. The single hooks you from the first moment with a melody that you get lost in. Suter’s warm timbre is the perfect topping and will further enthral you.
