Track of the Day: Jesse Grossi – Rock ‘n’ Roll

No need for a long introduction to this because Jesse Grossi is a singer-songwriter that remains firmly imprinted on my brain. Following his successful career closely, The Other Side Reviews has reviewed almost all of Grossi’s singles from ‘Ride With You’ to ‘Moments of Fire’. Yet, we are not the only ones the US-based artist has captivated. From Find No Enemy and Sinusoidal Music to Rock Era Magazine and Edgar Allan Poets, all singing his praises. Always up for his music, I was super excited to come across one of his latest singles ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’. Take a look with me?

Following his track ‘Moments of Fire’ (read our review here), Grossi transitions from an upbeat pop sound to a rather boundary-breaking design. The melodic arrangement not only prompts a headbanging rock vibe but also inspires some sexy pouts with the hip-hop/rap-rock vocals. A pounding bassline melds harmoniously with Grossi’s bold voice leading to something both flowing and brash. I think it might be this heavy-hitting rock style infused with slick rap that makes the song more “in your face” than his other works.

While the melody itself is superb and infectious, Grossi wows me once again with the meaningful lyricism. Describing ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ as a “love letter to music”, Grossi approaches the concepts of sacrifice and success in this challenging field. You hear the saying that the music industry is fickle and it’s true, but Grossi explores the definition of success and how to reach this point in an intoxicatingly memorable song. So, perhaps the industry is fickle, but there are tracks that are monumental, sentimental and can stand the test of time. I’m certain at least ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ will!

In addition to the single, Jesse Grossi has released an official lyric video for ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube Channel.
