Jeremy M – Little Man (2025)

Quickly becoming one of the most exciting emerging acts in the UK, singer-songwriter Jeremy M can get you grinning, win your heart, and leave you wanting more moving melodies. Embracing his songwriting skills as a teenager, Jeremy began producing music in his bedroom during the Covid-19 lockdown; then fate got its claws and, well, the rest of the musical journey is history. After releasing two self-produced albums in 2022, both receiving international acclaim, Jeremy opened people’s eyes to his fusion of folk, pop, and indie styles. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Little Man’.

Following the well-received EP, is it too late?, Jeremy M steps into 2025 with his single, ‘Little Man’. Thematically and conceptually, ‘Little Man’ continues from is it too late?’s “crossing the bridge from teenage to adulthood and tackling childhood trauma…” by delving into the bittersweet world of becoming an adult. Touching on “leaving the nest and being yourself” time of life, ‘Little Man’ is a tale of self-identity, self-discovery, and self-worth. Jeremy M explains:

The song started from a conversation with Jamie about travelling abroad to visit my dad, and how being away from home still felt very significant even at my age… I was thinking a lot about how I had spent most of life pretending to be someone else and how trips… were a way to escape that but were also quite hard as I had forgotten my true self over all that time. Ultimately, the song is about leaving home and feeling free for the first time, but also being scared of being yourself and making your own decisions.”

Co-written, recorded and produced with Jamie Amos, ‘Little Man’ is a synth-pop-infused rush of kaleidoscopic haziness sparkling in its bright lights and fairy glitter. Yet, as much as the psychedelic synths carry listeners on a soothing sonic river, Jeremy M entwines folk and indie-rock sounds into the water. I find it intriguing that ‘Little Man’ opens with that haziness but somehow morphs into a less fuzzy, hard-hitting, bolder flood of folk weightiness. Sincere, sentimental and tender, Jeremy M wins your heart with the rich melody, ‘Little Man’.
