Merging with Engel’s gruff vocals, ‘I Got Caught’ is a sonic whirlpool in which you can become easily lost. Hazy and haunting, ‘I Got Caught’ has an ethereal vibe only strengthened by Engel’s bold vocals.
Touching on themes of toxic relationships, ‘I Got Caught’ is a sonic representation of living in a suffocating romance. Exploring issues like inner turmoil, conflict, frustration, anxiety and vulnerability, Engel shares reflective insight on the situation. The internal battle is eloquently portrayed in his personal narrative, but it is the melody that shows us the heightened emotion being felt. Depth in poetic lyricism is coupled with intricate instrumentation highlighting his innovativeness as an artist.
