Jean-Dominique – Follow The Stars (2022)
Merging elements of hip-hop, pop and soul in an authentic manner, Jean-Dominique is a refreshing breath of air in the music industry. Dancer, singer and actor, this force of nature is a triple threat, but a threat we welcome with open arms. Based in the US, the talented artist began his career on well-known Nickelodeon programmes throughout the 2000s; however, his work more and more takes the form of intriguing music. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Follow The Stars’.
Following his track ‘Hotel Secrets’ (released in 2021), Jean-Dominique brings the sensuality of Latin with the freshness of contemporary pop in his new single. Refusing to be pigeon-holed, the synth-driven single is filled with powerful beats, but there remains an underlying smoothness to the track. Moreover, this soothing vibe is evident in Jean-Dominique’s dulcet tones laid over the toe-tapping hip-hop melody. Beautifully textured and layered, ‘Follow The Stars’ is an inspiring song sending you into a kaleidoscopic whirlpool of sound.
I would compare Jean-Dominique to Justin Bieber or Charlie Puth, but the truth is he has a signature originality in his music. Sensual, sexy and super-cool, the groovy vibes oozing from ‘Follow The Stars’ showcase an eclectic approach all audiences will enjoy. Written by singer-songwriter Alex Angelo and produced by the iconic David Quinonoes, ‘Follow The Stars’ slithers into your brain and sends chills down your spine while you twirl about to it with a giddy smile on your face. Not hard-hitting in the way a punk rock song slaps you across the face, but hard-hitting in its pop-inspired manner, ‘Follow The Stars’ is an example of musical sophistication.
