Jane N’ The Jungle – Raw As A Jewel (2022)
Combining elements of alternative rock with melodic metal and sprinkling tinges of punk over the melting pot, Jane N’ The Jungle have a sound that hits you in the guts while slapping your face – but you love every second. From their debut track ‘Tonight’ in 2019 to ‘METAL GHOST’ and ‘DIRTY DOG’ in 2022, the US-based trio are building a loyal following with their engaging, enthusiastic sound. Moreover, they are turning heads across the globe with features in Alternative Press, Loud Women, Women That Rock, The Hype Magazine, Red Rock Magazine and numerous radio stations like Amazing Radio, and Sirius XM. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Raw As A Jewel’.
Following their well-received track ‘METAL GHOST’, Jane N’ The Jungle pays tribute to the melodic metal sounds of the late-1990s/early 2000s with a subtle reminiscence to Halestorm and Evanescence. Yet, while a comparison can be made with those iconic female-fronted bands, Jane N’ The Jungle has a unique, eclectic, hard-hitting sound. The pounding drums meld elegantly with dynamic guitars, topped off with Jordan White’s soulful vocals. I might dare to say that her bold tones carry a blunt honesty as raw as a jewel woven through a sonic tapestry.
Moving on from their introspective single ‘METAL GHOST’, Jane N’ The Jungle touch on our basic nature to seize our desires and follow the path led by our heart instead of our head. In ‘METAL GHOST’, they brought an open-hearted feeling with the band letting us know we each have a metal ghost existing within ourselves longing to break free – ‘Raw As A Jewel’ lets the ghost out.
“As an artist, I am always striving to write, sing and perform in my most raw authentic self. It was a fight within myself, a feeling that felt as if I wanted to crawl outside my body, and I wanted to portray that emotion in ‘Raw As A Jewel’.” – Jordan White (vocals) on ‘Raw As A Jewel’.
In addition to their single, Jane N’ The Jungle released an official music video for ‘Raw As A Jewel’. You can view the video below or on their YouTube channel. Please note this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.
