Ingaja – Quietness In The Air (2020)

The fast pace of the world can often drag on a person and you need some time to relax and re-energise yourself. If you are looking for a song that embodies this struggle, ‘Quietness in the Air’ by Ingaja is it. The single is all about taking the time to slow down and find inner harmony through nature. It invites you to turn to nature as the home of our souls and appreciate everything that is around us.

This is something that Ingaja is able to gently lure you into. Using ambient soundscapes and dark melodic instruments, she gets your attention and helps you get pleasantly lost in her sound. Her sound has been honed over the years as music has always been a part of her life. However, the last 6 years as a solo artist have helped it evolve into the mesmerising sonic exploration it is today.

The light opening of ‘Quietness in the Air’ sets the tone for the single and the message. The melody makes you think about walking through a forest or out along the cliffs of the ocean. There is something soothing about the sound. The deep drums are as light as the rest of the melody and combine wonderfully with the airy vocal harmonisations. The melody does have a slight increase in tempo, but it retains its flowing nature.

The flowing melody blends with Ingaja’s vocals smoothly to create these intertwined layers that work to transport you far away. Her airy vocals have a depth to them as they make you yearn for nature. The sense of longing she invokes in you sits in your chest as you float along the lyrics of the single. It is a wonderfully arranged song and you don’t realise that is it is just under seven minutes long.

Ingaja makes you long for nature so you can take the time to relax and recharge with ‘Quietness in the Air’. The twining of the melody and vocals is perfect as it gently eases you through the lyrics and fills you with a sense of longing. If this single does not make you want to take a long walk in a forest, you are dead inside.
