INDOLORE – Danser Le Soir (2022)

INDOLORE is riding the high of the last year with the fun chase of ‘Danser Le Soir’. One of the most exciting French folk acts of recent years, he blends progressive and compelling grooves with indie-folk softness. Throwing listeners into the breath-taking chase of the lyrics, he has you moving to his rhythm while basking in the French vocals with a light sprinkling of Japanese.

Having achieved critical success with his debut EP, INDOLORE continues to capture listeners’ hearts with his soft and moving sound. His unique blend of folktronica has seen him share the stage with Sia and record a cult album with rock legend Terry Reid. With this single, he lets us know that he has no plans of stopping and we are extremely happy about that.

The folky roll of the acoustic guitar that opens ‘Danser Le Soir’ lulls you into the softness of the single. The warm earthy tones get a glint of bright light from the twinkling notes that weave between the guitar notes. While the melody has you riding the gentle flows of folk, from the depths the electronic tones start to make an appearance. The tapping tone of electronic beats fills the low levels of the melody driving it forward while keeping the softness of the organic instrumentation. When the guitar twangs into the music, it brings a wonderful texture that increases the rich feeling of the music.

Floating on the waves of softness are INDOLORE’s vocals that wisp around your head. While his performance is in French, his delivery helps the meaning of the track transcend any language barriers. His dulcet tones settle warmly on your skin and ease any rough edges in your soul. Through his performance, you feel a reaching out of the spirit that is tinged with sadness and melancholy. As the melody gains texture and depth, the easy softness of the vocals remains letting you breathe deeply. When the guitar twangs into the melody, there is a sigh to the vocals as you feel a change in emotion from yearning to an almost happy acceptance.

INDOLORE has you sinking into the gentle tones of ‘Danser Le Soir’ with soft acoustic instrumentation, gentle electronic beats and touching French vocals. The music is tender as it sweeps its soft touch over your skin. While his vocals are in French, his nuanced performance transcends any language barrier.
