iHATEJON – Wake Up (2022)

Inspired by a plethora of genres and musical styles, singer-songwriter iHATEJON has an eclectic sound not to be pigeonholed. Truth be told, if you were to listen to iHATEJON’s music you’d hear tinges of indie-rock, pop, soul, blues, hip-hop and everything in between. This is my introduction to iHATEJON but he has been turning heads across the globe with his unique sound. Featured on Music Arena GH, It’s All Indie, PopFad Music, Euro Indie Music, Indie Rock Café and various playlists, he is hailed as strong, fresh, eloquent and alternative. The latest addition to his well-received repertoire is the single ‘Wake Up’.

Following his three-track EP See No Evil, ‘Wake Up’ is the fourth release this year by the talented musician. Unlike his song ‘See No Evil’, ‘Wake Up’ brings a softer, more soothing soul-pop style as compared to a hip-hop-infused single. Not only does this showcase iHATEJON’s versatility as an artist, but also his openness to all genres and innovation when creating this music.

So, how do I adequately describe iHATEJON and ‘Wake Up’? A kaleidoscopic song with groovy vibes, this new single is one to be played on any occasion. In fact, I can easily see people swaying along to it and singing out loud at a sold-out concert. As I mentioned, this is the first time I have heard of iHATEJON but I am certain that it is not the last time his music will blast through my speakers. A shimmering stone in a sonic pool of pebbles, I highly recommend him as one to watch.
