Holly Fitzgerald – All Night (2023)

When we left singer-songwriter Holly Fitzgerald, she brought the huskiness of Sade in her jazz-heavy single ‘The Tide’. A couple of years later, the UK-based artist weaves her dreamy vocals into a jazz-driven single with ‘All Night’. Flirtatious, playful and moving, Fitzgerald has received critical acclaim across the globe with support from blogs, curators and radio stations beyond her UK borders. Her music brings a raw sensitivity to the emotional melodies but with a soothing tingle of sound cascading down your spine. Come with us as we dip into the new single ‘All Night’.

The first release since 2021’s ‘The Tide’, ‘All Night’ retains the huskiness of Sade serenading people in a smoky jazz club. The thing is, just as a leaning toward Sade and Erykah Badu is evident, there is a unique lilt hidden within the obscure vocals. In her own way, Fitzgerald stirs a sensual seduction of her own in ‘All Night’. Backed by the simplistic jazz drums, guitars and piano, a soothing melody flows in the dreamy soundscape.

One thing I love about jazz artists is the confidence behind the performance. Fitzgerald oozes confidence in the silky vocals and warm instrumentation; however, raw vulnerability lurks beneath in a wistful haze. With big, beautiful eyes, Fitzgerald draws you into a wistful bubble of sound with lingering perfume and haunting charm. Love, no not exactly; ‘All Night’ sings of lust, desire and the skin-tingling, heart-stopping, gut-wrenching jolt before stepping off into a mire of sublime ecstasy.

As sexy as Sade in the ‘Smooth Operator’ music video, Holly Fitzgerald glides along with her own brand of sensuality. A cheeky wink beneath a raised eyebrow and the hope of a kiss from the seductive songstress, ‘All Night’ hypnotises you from the first moment and then, oblivion.
