Guy Horne & Rosa Leah – Morning Light (2022)

Two friends, one sound; the union of diverse influences and styles coming together in magical melodies – this is Guy Horne & Rosa Leah. UK-based singer-songwriters might have grown up in different areas, but their joint aim is to create inspiring music for the masses. One might say the idea for this collaboration came about three years ago when the pair met at a festival; however, it is only now that the inseparable best friends are blasting onto the music scene. Come with us as we dip our toe into their debut single ‘Morning Light’.

Originally developed while at the beach, ‘Morning Light’ is filled with a laidback joviality. While there are strong chilled-out vibes to the track, Horne & Leah add an upbeat, bouncy and all-around feel-good quality to ‘Morning Light’. Tipping you into a swirl of sound, the guitar-driven single elegantly layers guitars and synths into its melodic arrangement. One element I enjoy about ‘Morning Light’ is the use of both male and female vocals adding a heartfelt tenderness to the song.

Harnessing the energy of tender relationships, unforgettable sunsets and love affairs, ‘Morning Light’ tinges the electronic instrumentation with acoustic percussion – possibly trying to find the delicate balance between organic and synthetic. It might be a bit cheesy, but the lyrics “I wanna be with you ‘til the morning light” rings true for me – I want to keep listening to this song and enjoying the pair’s music throughout the night.
