Go Bury Your Monsters – Science Of The Heart (2025)

Described as something like “Frankenstein’s monster”, international group Go Bury Your Monsters takes “fragments of dormant demos and turn them into a living, beating collection of songs…” Despite living in different countries, Stephen Young (vocals), Darragh J. Glennon (vocals and bass), Brian Murphy (guitar), and Shayne Byrne (producer, drums and keyboard) come together remotely to craft, compose, and create a unique sound for the masses. Join us as we delve into Go Bury Your Monsters’ debut single, ‘Science Of The Heart’.

A pre-empter to their upcoming EP, Body Language, ‘Science Of The Heart’ might be a concoction of bits and pieces sent through the ether; however, its obscurity comes together blissfully in a full-bodied, weighty mixture of bold bass, crashing drums, shimmering keyboard, and soaring guitars. For me, it seems incredible that ‘Science Of The Heart’ was created without any of the lads being in the same room. Then again, anything can be done using the internet. Murphy explains:

For what was an international recording project, it all came together surprisingly easy. Everyone kinda added their own flavourings. Shayne and Stephen kinda started the roast beef, prepared the meat… myself and Darargh maybe seasoned the meat, and then Shayne cooked and served the meat.”

If I had to describe the experience of ‘Science Of The Heart’, I’d say it’s like travelling across a kaleidoscopic sonic river surrounded by glittering fairies, a warm feeling in your chest, a grin on your face, and the all-around languid tranquility of an 80s indie-pop song. Interestingly, as I mentioned, there is a comfort in the vintage sound and its richness, making it seem as if you are meeting an old friend instead of making a new one.

Sincere, sentimental and tender, I truly loved the heartiness and smile-inducing charm of ‘Science Of The Heart’. I cannot wait to hear more from these talented individuals.

In addition to the single, Go Bury Your Monsters released an official lyric video for ‘Science Of The Heart’. You can view the video below or on their official YouTube channel.
