Georgie – Bad Habits (2021)

A lot of people are inundated with dark thoughts and struggle to move to the light. If you need a helping hand, Georgie is here with her debut solo single ‘Bad Habits’. With some jazz-inspired tones and soulful vocals, she uses introspective lyrics to journey from dark to light with swirling crashes that bring your emotions to life.

Balancing her warm vocal tones with introspective reflections, she gives you a taste of what her upcoming EP will offer. At age 15, Georgie began frequenting open mic nights across Ipswich and released her first demo on Soundcloud. Since then, she has lent her musical versatility to various genres on a range of tracks.



‘Bad Habits’ hits you with some electronic jazzy tones from the first moment. There is an intense melody that crashes with light industrial notes and some smooth alternative RnB. The melody brings a mixture of darkness and light to your ears. The deep beats are all dark tones swirling around your ankles while the higher tones are lights glinting against your eyelids. There are moments of pulsing vibrations that hum through your chest adding to the depth of the music and the messaging of the track. At these times, you feel like the darkness is going to overtake you.

Georgie’s vocals are a wonderful warm flow over the melody. There is this wonderful lilting flow to her performance that touches you with great authenticity. Through her performance, you are led through dark moments to a lighter future. When the melody threatens to overwhelm you, her vocals pull you out of the ocean of sound.

Georgie brings a range of emotions to life with the darkness and light of ‘Bad Habits’. The melody mixes electronic sounds that vibrate in your chest and jazzy vibes. Her vocals are a warm layer over the melody as she draws you into the journey of the lyrics.
