Georgia Crandon – Make Me Yours (2024)

Delving into the rawness of humanity from passionate joy to tragic vulnerability, singer-songwriter Georgia Crandon channels her emotions into moving melodies; connecting with others in a creative art that is beyond language. Blending aspects of soul and pop in a vintage, although slightly contemporary, sound, Crandon appeals to retro and modern-day audiences. We came across the UK-based songstress earlier this year with her well-received single ‘Relapse’. Join us as we leap into the most recent addition to her repertoire, ‘Make Me Yours’.

Following the critically acclaimed singles ‘Relapse’, ‘First Class Devil (in Disguise)’ and ‘Told Me To Go Home’, ‘Make Me Yours’ is Crandon’s fourth release from her upcoming self-titled debut album. Finding an obscure line between vintage blues and rock with tinges of 70s pop fluttering about the edges, the melody is a mishmash of Joss Stone meets Amy Winehouse… but with a far more unique sound that is entirely Georgia Crandon and no one else.

A concoction of dynamic drums, a bold bass and soaring guitars, a heavier attitude clings to the melody; however, it is the piano and shimmer of strings that up the ante with something truly special. The ’60s doo-wop backing vocals enhance the retro vibe of ‘Make Me Yours’, but it is Crandon’s eclectic vocals that make the song iconic. Think of a theme song for one of Taratino’s films and you’d probably hit the mark.

While the melody is emotional in itself draws raw passion from any listener’s soul, Crandon highlights her way to inject vulnerability, fragility and tenderness in original music. When speaking of ‘Make Me Yours’, she shares:

“I feel that there is a lack of vulnerability in music today, particularly when talking about love and relationships. This song is simply explaining the feeling of loving and accepting someone entirely whilst maintaining self-worth and values. Admitting to being completely in love with someone and wanting to be bound to them is not a weakness…”
