From Inside – Say The Word (2023)

Hitting you between the eyes with their hard-hitting, fast-paced, enthusiastic music, From Inside is a band to get you jumping about in a dizzy haze. Leaning toward the pop-punk/pop-rock sounds of the 1990s/2000s, I can effortlessly compare From Inside to Blink 182, CrashCarBurn and Good Charlotte, but with a bit of a modern-day kick. Hailing from the UK, these Liverpool lads have turned heads on a global scale with coverage from numerous publications, radio stations, podcasts and playlists. In fact, From Inside has its own podcast: From Inside Out Podcast. We’re totally supporting their podcast but today we take a gander at their critically acclaimed discography.

Known for their vibrant, electric stage presence, From Inside has played with popular upcoming artists like Zack Fowler; however, their electricity is not only onstage but in the studio. Following their well-received singles ‘Let Me In’ and ‘The Right One’, ‘Say The Word’ is a charged bundle of pop-rock electricity. Pounding drums meld with dynamic guitars creating a forceful melody soaring through your soul. Yet, just as the melody is intoxicating, it is the vocals that bring an extra something to the single.

Forceful and highly charged, ‘Say The Word’ has a kick of rock to get that party started; however, there is also a warm comfort flowing through the melody woven with Zaid Elgahmi’s rich vocals. It is this bold sense of mellifluous warmth that enhances the message of the single – a message of hope. Inspired by an Emily Dickenson poem and expressed through a truly awesome pop-rock tune, From Inside explores human fragility and doubt but with words that bring a ray of light and optimism to our lives.
