Finding Bella – Set It Off (2022)

With the aim of delivering a “punchy blast of guitar and synth-led melodies”, UK-based Finding Bella aim to take their listeners on an energetic, soul-stirring journey with their music. Formed during the Covid-19 pandemic, the talented five-piece nod to the sounds of old-school indie-rock bringing it to the 21st century. Featured on music blogs like The Indie Scene, Chalkpit Records, Slap Magazine, Loudhacker, Thoughts Words Action, as well as various radio stations, Finding Bella is hitting the music world with a bang. The latest addition to their discography is ‘Set It Off’.

Following their well-received debut single ‘Good Right Now’, ‘Set It Off’ lies somewhere between Oasis, Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs with their bold sound. Soothing in an indie-rock way, Finding Bella combines dynamic guitars with pounding drums and gruff vocals sending you twirling about with its hard-hitting nature. The interspersed incorporation of a keyboard adds a certain charm to the already enchanting blast of sound.

Yet, while the melody holds its own sending shivers down your spine, Oliver White’s vocal execution brings a grittier edge to the track. Inspired by evenings out in Birmingham, ‘Set It Off’ is a reflection of the energy of these nights out. The melodic rise and fall is a sonic representation of the ups and downs of each night. Harmonically melding his bold, rich tones with the catchy instrumentation White slithers into your ear and really brings that powerful rock rush home.

With their intriguing sound and gritty charm, Finding Bella brings high-powered sentiment and sincerity in their hypnotic sophomore single ‘Set It Off’. It is no doubt that Finding Bella is the band of 2022 and a gem to keep your eye on – we certainly will.
