eRapWMDX – The Algorythm (2024)

To describe eRapWMDX isn’t the easiest of tasks, so let’s just deem him an eclectic brand of alternative, original, and experimental sounds. The brainchild of US-based recording artist Steve Beitscher, eRapWMDX traipses through forests of pop, rock, punk and electronica. This is our introduction to the singer-songwriter, but a quick glimpse at his discography shows a saunter from electropop in one song to indie-rock in the next and…well, it’s just interesting. Join us today as we delve headfirst into his single, ‘The Algorythm’.

Working with the multi-platinum producers behind Plain White T’s, Jimmy Eat World, and The Unlikely Candidates, eRapWMDX’s music brims with the sophistication of vintage pop-rock/pop-punk music; however, within the retro tones, Beitscher explores the infusion of technology in music composition placing us as “…the observer and the future is everything we are making it to be.”

An artist to be enjoyed in his vivid vibrancy rather than merely heard, eRapWMDX shoves you into a sonic hurricane with ‘The Algorythm’. Soaring guitars wrap about you with a bright red shimmer, while a bold bass clings to the wind with a yellow glitter; however, it is the pulsating drums that rip past your head with kaleidoscopic flair and urgency. Picking up in speed, you are tossed from pillar to post in this pop-punk meets pop-rock concoction; however, eRapWMDX’s vocals hold your hand, navigating the glitchy realm of “what the hell”. He explains:

“’Algorythm’ is a mind-melting trip through the digital void – where clicks breed clicks, feeds devour minds, and we’re all just puppets in the machine. We built the algorithm, but it hacked our brains right back, twisting reality into an endless dopamine loop. Hypnotic, pulsing, and just unhinged enough to make you question if you’re vibing or glitching out…”
