End of Proof – Made for Two (2021)
Life is full of both pain and pleasure which is what End Of Proof has infused into the single ‘Made for Two’. All about not wanting to be alone, the song fills you with the pain of fear before tempering it with some playful movements. The contrast of vibes brings a reality and connect to the single that makes it easy to relate to while getting lost in the movement of the melody.
Originally written for the acoustic guitar, John Hammeren Nilsson, the man behind the music, felt it was becoming too sappy. Adding some more energy and an upbeat vibe, he with his good friend Tyge on drums turned the track into something completely different. If this is your first taste of his music, it offers a wonderful introduction to what he has to offer.
‘Made for Two’ has a big melody that sweeps you into the movement from the first moment. The guitars scoop you on their soaring flow before gliding along the soundscape. The layers of the melody fill you with easy vibes that are light and rather uplifting. There is a touch of melancholy artfully woven into the music. This comes through with the higher tones and delicate piano notes. While the melody has a light sense of playfulness, this has been perfectly tempered with some negative vibes and sadness.
As you glide on the wings of the melody, Nilsson’s vocals have a light feeling as they enter. He breezes past your cheeks like a gentle wind that brings the warmth of the air to your senses. As the guitars start to soar again on the chorus, his vocals rise to match. There is a somewhat nostalgic feeling to his performance that brings a greater hit of melancholy to the melody. He brings a yearning for companionship through the lyrics while tugging at your heart with feelings of loneliness.
End of Proof have you gliding on upbeat melodic waves while glancing off waters of melancholy and loneliness with ‘Made for Two’. The melody has a captivating movement that scoops you up and doesn’t let you go. His vocals bring more of the pain to the track while yearning for closeness.
