Elad David – Electrified (2022)
If you are looking for a single that includes something for everyone, you are in the right place. Elad David packs a lot into his single ‘Electrified’ merging samples with rock guitars, synths, a trumpet and a saxophone. Sprinkled with crazy video game touches, he hits us with a serious rock fusion vibe that highlights not only his musicality, but the power of music.
No newcomer to the music scene, David has spent the last 25 years playing various live shows, producing and recording in the studio for other artists and himself. He recently started releasing his original music with his first full album hitting us last year. With this single, he introduces us to a new direction of sound as it taps into his upcoming concept EP.
‘Electrified’ grows through the opening that vibrates with a deep static, leading you to some video game style beeps. The guitars fill the lower level of the melody with the heavy power of rock that pushes through your chest and electrifies your soul. The drums have your head bopping to their rhythm, while the guitars fly to their own style. Taking the organic instrumentation alone, you are hit with a fantastic rock instrumental track that makes you want to get down to its vibes. There is a rather moving feeling to these instruments that get your whole body going to their sound. The horns that enter late in the track add a wonderful burst of texture to the organic instrumentation.
While these instruments are amazing, weaving between them is the electronic flows. The synths bring a slightly retro vibe to the sound. This is interspersed with the video game vibes that make you think of reaching high scores in the arcade with all the lights and bells that come with this. As the organic instrumentation rocks out in the lower levels of the melody, the electronic tones bring a hit of pop. This is a truly outstanding fusion of rock and pop, electronic and organic that showcases David’s musical prowess. There are moments when the organic tones take over only for the electronic ones to artfully slide back in to fill the higher levels. The addition of electronic vocals in one section of the track is great as it takes the electrifying vibes to another level.
Through the fusion of organic and electronic tones in ‘Electrified’, Elad David has you rocking out the powerful guitars before feeling the high of video game style electronics. Throughout the single, he brings a fantastic interplay between the organic and electronic instrumentation. This all comes together for a vibrant sound that leaves you full of energy.
