D3lta – Hey You (2021)

With a pursuit to stand out in the crowd, Greece-based singer-songwriter is certainly not one to be pigeon-holed. Embracing music at a young age, D3lta began learning the piano at age five before experimenting with grunge and punk music in his teens. Performing with various bands through his high-school years, D3lta soon found himself exploring the London underground music scene building a name for himself at venues around Kent, London and Bristol. Some people might remain in London and find a loyal following there, but not D3lta; soon after his studies, he returned to Greece forming the renowned high-energy group Black and Blue. The thing is, soon after formation, the talented pop artist looked at moving toward a solo project.

Releasing his debut singles in 2018, D3lta was met with outstanding praise from crowds and critics. Building momentum, he appeared at OAKA Stadium performing to 40,000 people, featured on Rock FM, Sinusoidal Music, Earmilk and YMX. Unfortunately, his career came to a stand-still with the pandemic in 2020; however, D3lta is not one to sit on his laurels. Bouncing back, the singer-songwriter released two honest tracks this year including ‘Hey You’.

Working with renowned producer Abiss, ‘Hey You’ has an interesting melodic arrangement combining soothing piano with underlying synthesisers. The merging of these two elements creates a hazy ambience in which you can easily lose yourself. However, it is not only the piano-driven instrumentation that leaves you breathless but the incorporation of an orchestral backing. Without any effort, D3lta finds the balance between classical training and contemporary pop, as well as looking at the line between acoustic and synthetic. The fusion of these two designs represents a true metamorphic approach highlighting D3lta’s versatility and individuality.

Along with the moving melody, the poignancy of the ballad is enhanced by sincere lyricism. His rich vocals elegantly execute the tender tale connecting with audiences through an intimate narrative. In a collaboration with acting coach William Lester, D3lta discovered ways to fully express the emotional content of the lyricism in an intense, evocative way. Its simplicity and stirring nature reaches into your soul, shivers down your spine and leaves you tearing up without even knowing why.

In addition to the single, D3lta released an official music video for ‘Hey You’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel.
