Cynthia Angelica – Made Of (2023)

A natural storyteller, singer-songwriter Cynthia Angelica uses her poetic lyricism to captivate audiences reaching deep into their souls with moving words. Sincere and tender, her warm vocals enchant audiences whether it’s at a live show or on Spotify. With coverage from the likes of Rising Artists Blog, Alchemical Records and YMX, the US-based artist has been described as offering “a sense of comfort…” (YMX) and “…sheer conviction and sincerity…” (We Write About Music).

A professional freelance writer and ghostwriter, Cynthia Angelica certainly has experience working with words; however, it is now that she uses those words to express herself as a songwriter. In an interview with The Other Side Reviews, she shared that “music has become a creative form for me where my voice is my own… I’m challenged to live up to the lyrics just as much as my listeners are” – and this is clear in her new single ‘Made Of’.

Recorded with producer Dave Mallen of WAMMIE award-winning studio Innovation Station Music, ‘Made Of’ steps back to the 1990s blending alt-rock and pop with slivers of grunge woven into the sonic tapestry. As with her singles ‘By Your Side’ and ‘Grace’, a soft soothing exists in ‘Made Of’ with a delicate piano driving the emotional core of the song. Yet, while the piano can soothe your soul, it has a haunting element oozing vulnerability and fragility.

Just like the piano moves from gritty melancholy to whimsical classical sounds, Cynthia Angelica’s vocals bring a mystical haze to ‘Made Of’. From dirty, grunge-inspired roughness to a lighter, almost angelic tone, she showcases her way of capturing intense emotions within the vocals.

Intimate and moving through the melody, ‘Made Of’ connects on a deeper, spiritual level with the intriguing lyricism. Cynthia Angelica explains: “I started writing ‘Made Of’ during the unravelling of a relationship…somehow during my creative process, the song rewrote itself and transformed into an empowerment anthem… it is meant to challenge you to tap into your inner fire and rise above anyone or anything that tries to bring you down…”
