Corbin Dooley – Breathe Deep (2023)

From Illustrate Magazine to Issue Wire, Americana UK, Muse Chronicle and Shout Out LA, Corbin Dooley may be a new artist for us, but he has been turning heads across the globe for years. In an interview with Shout Out LA, Dooley shared that along with his parents playing albums from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin, his family also encouraged a passion for music – “my mother was a pianist, and my grandfather was a drummer; the love for music was ever present.” From those early years to his travels far beyond his US borders to founding Bikiniwax Records, Dooley has always felt a creative flame burning in his heart. One of the most recent additions to his discography is the single ‘Breathe Deep’.

Drawing together his diverse life experiences, singer-songwriter Corbin Dooley refuses to adhere to a single genre. From the reggae-inspired ‘Sweet Bird of Freedom’ to slices of soul in the chilled ‘Flowers Candles Weed’, Dooley is anything but pedestrian. In his single ‘Breathe Deep’, taken from the upcoming album Rocksteady, we hear a hint of alternative pop woven into a reggae-based beat with a tinge of folk sprinkled over the melody.

Doing exactly what it says on the tin, Dooley’s new single will have you breathing deep. Soft, soothing and gentle, ‘Breathe Deep’ is a calming tune with chilled-out vibes. With steady beats hidden in the cool breeze, this single is one that will lift all your worries and free you of all anxiety. In fact, it would probably be the theme song for those yoga classes where you have to release your fears, doubts and angst.

“A calming, meditative track that investigates the quest for inner peace… this mesmerising song weaves a mantra-like spell fostering deep reflection and unity. Delve into ethereal harmonies and let profound lyrics on connection, faith and boundless vision guide your self-discovery journey…” – Corbin Dooley on ‘Breathe Deep’
