Cooper Castelle draws on a range of rock tones to tell the story of ‘You Were the One’. This moves into a sadness that you can’t quite explain, that is enhanced by the melody. His performance is packed with emotions that tumble together and flow in a really relatable way. At times, he has you falling into affection, only to wonder if this is a good idea, leaving you to ride the uncertainty of your emotions.
Using a dynamic melodic and vocal arrangement, Cooper Castelle has you riding a range of emotions and tapping into various thoughts in ‘You Were the One’. After the thrumming guitar gets your attention, you are tossed into a ranged melody that bounces from punchy beats to melodic flows. This movement enhances the vocals as they traverse the full spectrum of emotions, while tapping into the different thoughts that run through our heads.
