Hailing from the USA, California-based Kammeyer’s music is not merely sound, but an intertwined concoction of infectious rhythms, poetic lyricism, and poignant themes. As with ‘Only You’, the new track brims with pop-filled goodness; however, there is a worldliness to ‘You’ that seems to capture a roots sound, somewhat Afrobeat-ish, flecked by soul and blues. In a kaleidoscopic twirl of sound, ‘You’ tips you into a sonic whirlpool, tossing you from one side to another with the shimmering instrumentation. Yet, as much as you twirl about with music rushing past your ears, Kammeyer seems to hold you close in a comfortable, friendly embrace.
Melodically, ‘You’ oozes warmth and joy like laughing with an old friend over a cup of tea and biscuits, but it is the lyrics and theme that enhance the richness of this experience. With soulful vocals sliding through a sincere tune, Kammeyer explores the complexities of relationships. He explains:
