Camila Knight – no need to say goodbye (2023)

The latest addition to her critically acclaimed discography is the single ‘no need to say goodbye’.
Composed in Knight’s home studio, ‘no need to say goodbye’ began as tinkering on her old piano before evolving into the contemporary pop song we have now. A collaborative effort with producer Isaiah Jose and mixing/mastering by Mike Dwyer, the simple tinkering about melody gained a more substantial foundation filling out into a sophisticated slice of music. Blending elements of indie-rock into her signature pop sound, ‘no need to say goodbye’ finds the delicate balance between heavier hard-hitting tones and wistful ambiences. Moreover, it finds the line between acoustic piano and electronic synths elegantly melding organic and synthetic in three minutes.
Following her five-track EP Uplifted, ‘no need to say goodbye’ is a comforting song wrapped up in a rich, bold sonic package. Described as the most honest song she has written so far, the single drips vulnerability and intimacy. Known for her engaging music and desire to connect with audiences, Knight shares that “…music has taught me how to express myself better and songwriting has had a healing effect on me. I realised by making music that I can share something valuable, lasting and be of help to others.” This intimate connection is evident in ‘no need to say goodbye’.
