Blue Fish Diamond – Lady Marguerite (2020)

Formed in late 2016, Blue Fish Diamond is a Dublin-based indie-folk band. Jim Murphy (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Shay Sweeney (drums), Ronan Quinn (bass), Laura Ryder (piano), Axel McDonald (lead guitar), Matilda O’Mahony (backing vocals) and Elle Ryan (backing vocals) released their debut album in 2018 with further singles in late 2019 and early 2020. They are now here to uplift with the summer song ‘Lady Marguerite’.

The track is about love and life with the lady being the personification of summer. The song takes you on a happy journey that leaves you feeling light, just in time for summer. It was recorded in Hellfire Studios and produced by Gavin Glass.

‘Lady Marguerite’ gets you into the summer vibes from the start of the song. The opening is light and airy like a light breeze on a warm summer’s day. This continues throughout the song with the laid-back melody. There is a great crescendo to the track that gets you singing along.

While the melody is a light breeze, Murphy’s vocals are the warm sun on your face. If the melody did not get you into the vibe, his vocals will. They are smooth and uplifting making the track just what we all need right now. The harmonisations on the track are gentle and make you smile.

Blue Fish Diamond transports you to a warm summer day with a light breeze in ‘Lady Marguerite’. The track is the gentle summer tune we have been waiting for that relaxes you while lifting your spirit.
