Bingo Boys – Donuts (2023)

Fast, aggressive and fierce – those are the qualities you want from punk music. Add a smattering of high-quality fun and you have the awesomeness of the punk trio Bingo Boys. Formed in 2020, Gus (vocals and guitar), Noah (bass) and Carter (drums) are turning heads and garnering a loyal following. Featured on Artisti Online, Find No Enemy and Rising Artists Blog, to name but a few, the lads are making a noise far beyond their North American borders. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Donuts’.

The first release in two years, ‘Donuts’ follows Bingo Boys’ well-received album More. Taken off their upcoming full-length album (released through Radio Cake Records), ‘Donuts’ brings a traditional Sex Pistols and The Clash to modern-day audiences. Distorted guitars meld with pounding drums setting your heart beating at a million miles per hour, so it is difficult to not gasp for breath as ‘Donuts’ plays.

Recorded with Wes Heaton (mixing/mastering), Kameron Lockwood (engineering) and Demarcus Bowden (grunt work) at 1857 Studios, ‘Donuts’ is an aggressive song but with a sophisticated elegance in its arrangement. Yet, while the drums, guitars and bass have you tossing your head about in a chaotic frenzy, Gus’ vocals bring a bold richness to the track. Think Sid Vicious and Joey Ramone, but with a unique warmth that is purely Bingo Boys (well, as warm as a punk song can be).

When I think of donuts, I imagine super-sweet delights sprinkled with chocolate, filled with custard or covered in a lemon glaze – all with a sinfully sublime taste; This sublime sinfulness is exactly what I get from Bingo Boys. Tasty, tantalising and exciting, I highly recommend you break all diets and enjoy ‘Donuts’.
