Bianca Aristia – Hurt By Rejection (2022)

Blending contemporary pop and RnB with retro synthesisers, singer-songwriter Bianca Aristia brings a sound that is unlike anything else. Known for her personal tracks, she gets you dancing while connecting with you intimately. Featured on Nexus Music Blog, Its All Indie, Roadie Music, Le Rapologue and various playlists, Aristia is captivating hearts on an international level. In fact, she even captivated us with her previous work. The latest addition to her well-received discography is ‘Hurt By Rejection’.

Following her single ‘Only Wanted You’ (read our review), Aristia adopts a strong pop style with a heavy synth beat in ‘Hurt By Rejection’. Far more upbeat than ‘Only Wanted You’, the new track will have you swaying to its beats. Yet, while there is a smooth ambience in the melody, it also has a tinge of aggressive melancholy. This showcases Aristia’s means of layering vulnerability with a mature strength.

Yes, the melody has an electronic vibe that I can hear being played at festivals, however, Aristia’s strength lies in her lyrical connection with others. Touching on issues like self-conflict, anxiety, frustration and resentment, ‘Hurt By Rejection’ has an intense intimacy to it. Interestingly enough, while there is an exploration of hurt and, well, rejection, Aristia oozes empowerment in her new song. Coming through feelings of aggression with a personal power, this singer-songwriter helps to create a platform for “bringing people together to find solace”.

Overall, I really enjoyed ‘Hurt By Rejection’. Bianca Aristia’s powerful vocals continue to share an “independent woman who doesn’t take any ****” tone, but at the same time are sophisticatedly naïve. I can’t wait for more from this talented musician.
