bd GOTTFRIED – Live, Fight & Die (2024)
Unrestrained by current trends, societal expectations and boundaries set for artists, bd GOTTFRIED has gone his own way for almost a decade. Inspired by a roaring passion for music, the singer-songwriter is not to be defined; like I said he forges forth in his own way making waves with each step. From his album Through The Dog’s Eyes in 2017 to 2021’s Onion Doves, GOTTFRIED has taken international audiences on whiplash journeys…and they all loved it. From the USA to the UK, Germany, Portugal and Brazil, his music ensnares senses far beyond his North American borders. Come with us as we dive headfirst into his single ‘Live, Fight & Die’ and pray to come out unscathed.
Taken from his new album Ghosts & Girls, ‘Live, Fight & Die’ is a melting pot of various rock styles swirled in a ferocious sonic whirlwind. Powerful with a forceful rush of hard rock, you are immediately tossed into a ground-shaking gust of insanity; however, as the heavier depths are tinged with melodic metal tones, a shiver of lighter piano flutters beneath adding a hushed alternative rock style.
Lost in a kaleidoscopic world of chaos, bright red lines slice across grimy black walls – slightly scary but then again not. While the melody is mad, warmth and richness ooze from GOTTFRIED’s vocals wrapping you in a velvety blanket to weather the storm… a way of diving into the song and coming out unscathed.
In Ghosts and Girls, GOTTFREID touches on both sides of the coin we call life. From the painful torment of hardships and challenges to the empowering sense of hopefulness and optimism, each extreme rushes forth in emotionally charged songs. ‘Live, Fight & Die’ “reflects the energy and carefree lifestyle of the youth of yesteryear…they live for the moment and the bigger the thrill the better.”
In addition to the single, bd GOTTFRIED released an official music video for ‘Live, Fight & Die’. You can view the video below or on his YouTube channel. Please note that this video uses lighting effects that can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.
