Arden Alexa – Strawberry Pie (2023)
If Taylor Swift were to have a child with Katie Perry, the chances are likely it would be Arden Alexa. A masterful pop princess, the US-based musician has a raw youthfulness sprinkled across a sophisticated pop sound. Since her debut single, ‘The Coast’ in 2021, Alexa has been featured on international blogs like Rising Music Blog, It’s All Indie, Tongue Tied Magazine and Song and Fury Blog garnering a following across the globe. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Strawberry Pie’.
Leaning toward the pop sounds of the early-2000s, Alexa Arden has a nostalgic bubble-gum pink pop sound to her music. Yet, while she would fit on a playlist featuring old-school Katy Perry, a contemporary pop meets electropop style exists giving her that sonic edge. The same power, intimacy and sassiness can be heard in ‘Strawberry Pie’ as exists in Katy Perry’s single ‘Roar’; however, a unique obscurity seems to sliver through Alexa Arden’s anthemic melody.

Penned as a youthful tale of a previous romance, Alexa explains that ‘Strawberry Pie’ is a song “…to recreate all the playful, fun, youth of that relationship while simultaneously conveying the sarcastic hurt following our breakup. Just as this song was a cathartic experience for me to write, I hope listeners can use it as both an ironic ‘getting over you’ song and a freeing, joyful anthem.”
Sincere, sentimental and hopeful, Arden Alexa shows an optimistic innocence in what might be considered a reflectively poignant ballad. While Alexa only began pursuing her music project full-time in 2022, it is clear to see the young lady is a naturally talented artist set for success.
