Andi Fins – Love It (2025)

Catching us in his hypnotic swirl of funk, folk, pop, psychedelia, and tinges of rock, Andi Fins offers emotional rollercoasters through enigmatic melodies. Based in Germany, singer-songwriter Fins stamps his name on the European indie scene; however, his music turns heads far beyond mainland Europe with audiences from the USA, the UK, Canada, Brazil and Australia paying attention. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Love It’.

Following the well-received singles ‘The Moons of Saturn’ and ‘Only A Kiss’, Fins takes another step into 2025 with ‘Love It’. Shifting from the psychedelic-tinged indie-folk ‘The Moons of Saturn’, ‘Love It’ is an eclectic blend of folk and pop. Finding a line between synthetic and organic elements, Fins elegantly swirls acoustic percussion and drums with a lead guitar. Yet, just as the tune is a harmonic blend of instruments, it seems each instrument is part of a separate melody floating alongside each other. While disconnected in individual tunes, Andi Fins’ vocals weave across binding things like a loom.

Showcasing another facet of his sound and personality, ‘This Love’ has an avant-garde nature to keep you guessing what the next obscurity may be. For me, the off-kilter indistinguishable connected/disconnected soundscape perfectly aligns with the theme, highlighting Fins’ understanding of emotion, sound, and concepts. Speaking about ‘Love It’, Fins shares:

“Imagine you really are just a tiny part of the Matrix and you can walk through any door in an eternal hallway. You stow your whole life folded up in a suitcase and pop up wherever you want until you dive down again, some magic stardust makes it possible…”

Overall, what is my opinion of ‘This Love’? Andi Fins has a highly eclectic and off-kilter sound, so there’s nothing I can say of a specific genre. Yet, the mish-mash of tones and tunes is what makes the track interesting. Its symphony of obscurity offers an enigmatic tug to keep you listening in the hope of finding a straight line; then again, it’s the madness that keeps you coming back.
