AMRIX – Don’t Be Afraid (2023)
The brainchild of Australian singer-songwriter and producer Daniel Lopriore, AMRIX captures the essence of RnB, pop and electronica in his music. A bright, shining brand new independent artist, AMRIX can be considered a newbie in the music scene. Yet, his authenticity, originality and captivating sound give him a sophistication beyond his limited discography. Come with us as explore the realm of this new musician.
With his debut single ‘Don’t Be Afraid’, AMRIX intoxicates us with the moving soundscape while pushing thought-provoking themes in an intimate complexity. A collaborative effort, AMRIX worked with songwriter Matt Miller and music engineer Ruben Castro on ‘Don’t Be Afraid’.
From the first chord, you are instantaneously lost in a swirl of RnB before strong electronic beats come through defining the arrangement. Yet, while these bold beats hold strong in the melody, they are woven into a powerful pop soundscape. It is easy to become lost in the swarming combination of electropop and RnB; however, AMRIX’s rich vocals add steadiness embracing you in a warm hug.
Exquisitely textured, ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ has a complex melody but it is the alignment of the theme that truly intrigues me. Thought-provoking and intimate, AMRIX touches on the issue of trust in a relationship. Using a personal narrative, he connects and resonates with audiences through lyricism. Interestingly, the poetic lyricism is not the only source of vulnerability and fragility. Listening to the melody, the electronic beats act as a heartbeat, AMRIX’s rich vocals find the delicate line between trust and mistrust…and it all comes together in an innovative song.
“Inspired by personal experiences and the universal struggle of trust in relationships, ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ explores the vulnerability and strength required to open up to another person fully…” – AMRIX on ‘Don’t Be Afraid’
