Alisa McCance – Another Chance To Fly (2022)

Already an established artist in the US country music scene, Alisa McCance has shared the stage with acts like Luke Bryan, Josh Turner, Gary Nichols, Alison Krauss, and Radney Foster at the Grand Ole Opry. She has also built a loyal international following with features on Independent Music Reviews, Lefuturewave and Music Mecca, as well as various playlists. With passion oozing from her fiddle and voice, McCance can hold you in the palm of her hand with her enchanting sound. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Another Chance To Fly’.

Following her well-received single ‘Crossing Rivers’, Alisa McCance adopts a soft, soothing and heartfelt sound in ‘Another Chance To Fly’. Tender with a strong country feel about it, this charming ballad is one of those that bring a tear to your eye – and you’re not ashamed to admit it. McCance’s powerful vocals elegantly meld with the melody in a simplistic soundscape. Yet, while there is a minimalist quality to the track enhancing the gentle instrumentation, ‘Another Chance To Fly’ has a kaleidoscopic sensation as well. The complex interplay between soft and bold, warm and chilling, and heart-breaking and heart-warming, highlights her innovation as an artist.

The melody can have you twirling about and swaying to the sound; however, there is a far more complex depth in the lyricism. Written with songwriter Robert K Wolf (who passed away a few years ago), ‘Another Chance To Fly’ is a hopeful, empowering and inspiring song. McCance explains that it is a song about “…having hope for tomorrow, my story of life after depression. He [Robert K Wolf] did not have cancer at the time we wrote it ironically enough. I get chills because he truly lived his life like he had another chance to fly each day.”
