Ali Berke – Stepford Wives (2024)

With over 100 singles sent from her brain to paper, singer-songwriter Ali Berke is devoted to developing her musical talent – already naturally talented but honing doesn’t hurt. A crafted storyteller, her lyricism in moving melodies resonates with listeners; however, she isn’t just something grand on the radio.

With her energetic, enthusiastic performances, Berke wins hearts at live shows and has shown her salt performing with artists like Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and Aaron Carter. From Madison Square Garden to the House of Blues, she swaggers through notable venues AND if you’re in the US, Berke is about to embark on a cross-country tour. As much as we’d love to be at one of her gigs, today we’re taking a gander at Berke’s music.

Following the well-received Christmas album When The Snow Falls, 25-year-old Ali Berke releases her new single ‘Stepford Wives’. Similar to her 2023 singles ‘Turbulence’ and ‘Figure It Out’, ‘Stepford Wives’ falls into the pop genre, however, Berke steps further into the bubble-gum pink pop sound in this track. A sophisticated production, the new single easily falls alongside the likes of Taylor Swift and Aaron Carter. The thing is, just as sophisticated and mature as it may be, there is a youthful innocence bouncing about the song.

Sugar-sweet, up-tempo and high-spirited, ‘Stepford Wives’ oozes pop charm with bold beats, smooth synths and Berke’s rich vocals. The perfect song to dance about to, I can easily imagine anyone singing the tune into their hairbrush while strutting about pretending to be onstage – the memory of my 13-year-old self included. Interestingly, while light-hearted joviality oozes in the melody with Berke’s rich vocals dripping honey, the tune is not fluffy or flimsy tackling relationships in a fun, bright and empowering way.

Sincere, laidback and filled with happiness, Ali Berke offers the anthem to a sunny summer romance with ‘Stepford Wives’.
