The latest addition to his repertoire is the single ‘Something Good’.

Learning the piano and guitar at a young age, Nigerian-born Fabola uses a solid theoretical foundation to prop up his informal contemporary sound. Adopting an acoustic guitar melody, Fabola uses an impressive finger-picking style prompting a flowing sound that breaks your heart. The incorporation of a piano in the background not only emboldens the heartbreaking quality but showcasing Fabola’s talent as a multi-instrumentalist.

Beautiful in its simplicity, ‘Something Good’ touches on that need for something good in one’s life – a topic to which most can relate. Inspired by the effects of Covid-19, the lyrical content is insightful, introspective and engaging. Yes, the track has a sense of melancholic reflection; however, the Fabola’s dulcet tones inspire hopefulness for the future.

“Times are pretty strange at the moment, it goes without saying really. A few months back, shortly after the first nationwide lockdown, I remember being out on my daily permitted walk and I was thinking about what had been on the news and social media leading up to that moment and I was overwhelmed by just how different everything ways…the isolation blues got to me a little bit. All I could think was “man, we could use some good news right about now” ” – Ade Fabola on ‘Something Good’

Combining almost spoken-word execution with a languid melody, Ade Fabola plucks at your heartstrings with each plucking of a guitar string. Haunting in its own way, ‘Something Good’ can leave you trembling with goosebumps all over your body and tears running down your cheeks. We are definitely getting something good with ‘Something Good’.
