Ohio-based alternative pop band, Something Else, recently released an EP and are just about to head off on tour to prove they are something else. Between these mad times, Aidan Hall took some time to answer our writer’s questions. Here are his answers:

OSR: How did the band come together?

AH: It started with Landen and I jamming and trying to write songs. Once we thought we had something special going we brought in Colin on bass, and eventually Dooley on drums.

OSR: Who are your biggest influences?

AH: My Chemical Romance, Michael Jackson, The Stokes, Green Day, it’s a very long list.

OSR: Any tours coming up?

AH: We have a been planning a tour that will be coming up in March, we will be announcing those dates in a few weeks.

OSR: What influenced you to write the EP, Something Else?

AH: Just things that happen to us or around us and the emotions that come with that.

OSR: Where do you see yourself in the future?

AH: Creating and playing music for anyone and everyone willing to listen.

OSR: Do you come from a musical family?

AH: All of us come from families that have a major appreciation for music. I personally come from a very musical family. My mother’s side is made up of several musicians, singers, and dancers.

OSR: What is the funniest thing that has happened to you on tour?

AH: There was one night in Detroit where we had to respectfully decline entry into our RV to a prostitute; that was different.

OSR: What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever been asked in an interview, and what was your answer?

AH: Most interviewers just ask about our hair, nothing too strange.

OSR: Any other projects coming up in the near future?

AH: We have a new music video coming up for a single off of our new EP that will start production soon. We have also started writing a new record that we hope to release at the end of the year.

OSR: Any advice for new bands?

AH: Play, live and make mistakes.

OSR: Anything you would like to say to your fans?

AH: We just want to say thanks for all of the love and support you throw our way. Knowing it helps and touches others is everything that we have hoped for, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
