Jamie Lindsay – Simple Life (2020)

Jamie Lindsay is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hailing from the Apple Isle, Tasmania. Since 2001, he has been working as a music producer in Sydney but is heading back to his country music roots for his new self-produced releases. ‘Simple Life’ is his fourth and latest release to draw on his fundamental country style.

The song is full of Lindsay’s love for the country way of life. It looks at wanting to get away from the big city and have a simple life. The song combines a cappella with big vocals to create a tune that you will be tapping your foot to.

‘Simple Life’ wastes no time getting you into the big vocals of the tracks. While the vocals drive the melody of the track, there is a great foot stomp and clap beat. This beat is infectious and you will need to tap your feet or clap along whether you want to or not.

As the song is a cappella, you really get hit with how much control Lindsay has over his vocals. This is also a master class in how to create an engaging track without any instruments. While the vocal performance is outstanding, the lyrics are outrageously catchy. The chorus is easy to pick up and you will soon be singing along.

Jamie Lindsay shows his love for country life in the infectious ‘Simple Life’. This a cappella track is a showcase of big vocals, catchy rhythms and sing-along lyrics.
