Jehnniel – Forever This Way (2025)
With an eclectic mish-mash of genres, ranging from indie-pop to electronica, singer-songwriter Jehnniel explores humanity in all its grit and glory with her songs. Originally a nurse working in the UK, Jehnniel raised her daughter as a single mother; however, now that her daughter is grown, her burning passion for music re-emerges with its fiery hue. Raised in a musical household, music was “the heartbeat of her daily life, immersing her in a kaleidoscope of genres…” – it is this passionate devotion to music offered in relatable melodies that draws us to Jehnniel like a moth to a flame. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Forever This Way’.
Recorded and produced with Nathaniel Hammond, with mixing and mastering by Roberto Panovski, ‘Forever This Way’ took shape in London at Diamond Hill Studio. For me, listening to ‘Forever This Way’ is not only a song but a palpable sonic experience. The heady synths travel along like a warm embrace, while a soothing keyboard shines with radiant warmth. Interestingly, while the track is a mellifluous flow of happiness, the pulsating beats are both soothing and brash offering an edgy heaviness amidst the charming laidback vibes.
Melodically, ‘Forever This Way’ is a beautiful, blissful drop of pop music washing over you with a hypnotic veil; but it is the lyricism that enhances the song’s profoundness. Tackling the timeless issue of societal pressure, ‘Forever This Way’ is an intimate exploration of, well, life. Jehnniel explains:
“The song is about breaking free from the monotony of everyday life and embracing the inspiration and true happiness that nature offers. This song celebrates the joy of escapism and challenges the pressures of conforming to social expectations. It’s time to unwind and experience the freedom that comes from aligning with the rhythms of nature, rather than being caught up in the unsustainable pursuit of materialism.”
