Sandy Martin – Let’s Get Crazy (2024)

With a bright smile and shining eyes, singer-songwriter Sandy Martin can captivate audiences with her beauty; however, it is her music that intoxicates listeners with its insatiable infectiousness. Known for her confident stage performances, Martin garners a following with energetic, enthusiastic shows… then again, international critical acclaim takes her influence far beyond her US borders. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Let’s Get Crazy’.

This is my introduction to Sandy Martin and with a brief gander at her back catalogue, I can see why she is stamping her name on the pop music scene. Following her well-received single ‘Think About Me’, ‘Let’s Get Crazy’ shifts from ‘Think About Me’s softer, soothing, almost dark indie-pop ballad to high-energy blasts of electropop.

Recorded and produced with Timothy Phoenix, ‘Let’s Get Crazy’ is a rushing flood of bold beats and shimmering synths tossing you into a kaleidoscopic sonic whirlpool. Pushing you from pillar to post, the track induces hyped-up insanity; however, just as the song is crazy, there is a warm harmony placing you in multi-coloured bubble wrap. Safe but insane, confident but vulnerable, ‘Let’s Get Crazy’ captures the ebb and flow of a passionate celebration of life.

While the melody itself loops you in an intoxicating surge of bliss, Sandy Martin’s vocals are the pulsating heart of ‘Let’s Get Crazy’. Dripping honey, the obscure voice enhances the ferocious celebration. Yet, and this is merely my opinion, a sweet slice of warm joviality lingers within the revelry. Martin explains:

“…the song captures the essence of summer revelry offering mantras for unforgettable nights with friends. It’s an anthem for free spirits, urging listeners to break free from conventions and immerse themselves in the present moment… a celebration of life and an invitation to embrace spontaneity…”
